English: How to make cool whip with powdered milk Part II: [15,000]

Rather than buying an imitation whip cream such as Cool Whip to use as a dessert topping, you can make your own and get you a similar taste at a lesser price. This simple recipe, can be completed in a few minutes.

What you need:
1 tsp unflavored gelatin
2 tsp cold water
3 tbsp boiling water
1/2 cup ice water
1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
3-4 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp vegetable oil
optional: 2 tsp vanilla extract (for whiteness and taste)

Step 1:  Chill a small mixing bowl and whisk. Having these items cold will give your topping the best consistency.

Step 2:  Put gelatin in a separate container, and then soften it by stirring in 2 tablespoons of cold water. Next stir in boiling water until the gelatin is completely and fully dissolved.

Step 3:  Its best to allow gelatin to cool for 2-3 minutes, until it is room temperature.

Step 4:  Now put both the ice water and dry milk in the chilled mixing bowl.

Step 5:  Beat it at high speed, until the mixture forms stiff peaks. Consider using a mixer to quicken the process, but note that this could affect the consistency.

Step 6:  Add the sugar and pure vanilla extract; continue to beat. Then add vegetable oil and gelatin. Note that the vanilla extract is optional. It may take away from the white color of the topping, and a little bit of the taste.

Step 7:  Now put it in the freezer for 15 minutes, then transfer to the refrigerator until use.

Step 8:  You may need to stir it a little before using  just to ensure a creamy texture.

Note:
Substitutions such as splenda instead of sugar have worked very well.
When learning how to make imitation Cool Whip at home, follow the recipe exactly the first time or be creative by trying different flavors of gelatin.
But the doubling of the recipe will affect the texture and is not recommended.

As always, be healthy, and stay safe !
