Was known by many names, including: The Werewolf of Wysteria, The Brooklyn Vampire and The Boogeyman.
Biography: He was born as Hamilton Fish on May 19, 1870 to a 75 year old father and 32 year old mother. He took on the name Albert, after a dead sibling of his, in order to escape the ridicule of being called Ham & Eggs by other children at the orphanage where he spent much of his time growing up.
The Fish family had a history of mental illness including and uncle and a brother who were confined to mental institutions. Other close relatives were said to have suffered from mental illnesses and his mother had frequent hallucinations.
At the age of 5, Fishs father died of a heart attack, and his mother promptly put him into an orphanage. There, he suffered from public beatings as he and other male students were forced to strip naked and receive whippings from the teachers. Oddly, over time, Fish began to enjoy the punishment and would be ridiculed for getting an erection while he was being whipped. Five years later, his mother had found a job and Fish left the orphanage to return home with his mother.
At the age of 12, Fish began participating in odd practices, such as drinking urine and eating feces. Fish claims to have begun raping young boys by the age of 20 after his arrival in New York City. In the early 1900s, Fish spent much of his time in brothels where his favorite activity was being whipped and beaten.
Around 1917, Fish began to exhibit even more bizarre behaviors. He had taken to embedding needles into his groin area, and many were inserted so deeply that they couldnt be removed. He also had taken to hitting himself with a nail-studded paddle.
The Crimes: In May of 1928, Fish convinced the parents of a 10-year old girl to allow her to accompany him to a birthday party. They would never see their daughter again. Fish took her to an abandoned house where he choked her to death and then cut her into small pieces, cooked and then ate her flesh, Fish claimed that it took him more than a week to fully consume her body.
Six years later, he was finally captured by the police after he sent an anonymous letter to the dead girls parents. Upon his arrest, details came out about other murders committed by Fish over the course of his lifetime.
He claims to have more than 100 victims to his credit, although police have only corroborated and tied him to 33 of those killings. Because he claims to have eaten most of his victims, evidence doesnt exist to tie him to the other crimes. During his trial, experts testified that never before had they seen a subject that possessed so many different sexual fetishes and abnormalities. He was sentenced to death and was electrocuted on 14 January, 1936. At his autopsy, the Medical Examiner found 683 foreign objects inserted at various points by Fish himself into his body.
